BCMFest 2018
BCMFest 2018
BCMFest (Boston Celtic Music Festival) is a program of Passim, a Cambridge-based non-profit seeking to build a vibrant music community in Harvard Square and beyond. The 2018 festival will mark the 15th year of BCMFest serving as the annual showcase for Celtic music and dance in Greater Boston.

For its 15th Anniversary, BCMFest continues its mission of celebrating the variety of music, song and dance from Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton and other Celtic-related traditions found in the Greater Boston area. For the finishing touch of the 4-day festival, the BCMFest Nightcap concert will pull together festival performers and special guests for an extravaganza that attests to the special qualities of Celtic music and dance in Boston.

Pictures tell a story, and so does music. Our nightcap concert will be devoted to the stories behind the music - performers will share the songs and tunes that hold special meaning for them and talk with our host about the people and experiences that provided the spark to light their musical flame.

Cape Breton Showcase
A Michigan native living in Boston, fiddler Rachel Reeds has immersed herself in the Cape Breton and Scottish musical traditions and has become a familiar face at sessions, camps, workshops, and house parties around New England. www.rachelreeds.com While helping his parents clean out his grandfather's house, Jacob found an old fiddle in the corner of a closet. The instrument was in decent shape, so at age eleven he began lessons with Vermont teacher Beth Telford, studying Cape Breton style fiddle music. Jacob soon fell in love with the music and began traveling to the Island of Cape Breton to study with masters such as Jerry Holland, Andrea Beaton, and Ashley MacIsaac.
