What is music? Merriam Webster defines music as "the science or art of ordering tones or sounds in succession, in combination, and in temporal relationships to produce a composition having unity and continuity." For some, music is no more than a way to relax after a long, hard, and grueling day. Whether it's jamming with your friends, practicing, or just kicking back while listening to your favorite record, music can be a really great thing. But, for Grape and Doo of Boston's Future Teens, it's that first one.

"When music hits you, you feel no pain" -Grape Starting a band isn't usually easy. Often it can take hours to hone in on your style, your look, and of course, last but not least, let's not forget, your band name. Grape and Doo were unencumbered by all of the typical malaise of starting a band. They were headed to their local haunt one balmy July day and decided en route that they wanted to start a band. And who said there's such thing as a free lunch?

"We channel all our beliefs, goals, feelings, doubts, and vibes into each and every song," multi instrumentalist and vocalist Doo Radin says. "For us, music is…an extension of ourselves" Sometimes inspiration can strike in the funniest of places...

In a recent interview with each other, Grape and Doo both agreed that what really sets them apart is their ability to write music that is completely and wholly original in every way. "We aren't influenced by any other music or experiences in any way" they agreed. "We make sure every song we write derives absolutely nothing from the western music canon."

And like with any good band, true colors are revealed in every live performance they give. "We leave it all out there on the stage" Doo mentions casually, "the fans deserve it."
